LATEST INFORMATION REGARDING RUNNING RALLYS AGAIN FROM THE CLUB

Dear all

I know how excited you must be to be able to resume rallies after the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday 22 February, and the devolved nations’ roadmaps out of lockdown.

As you are probably aware the Club is anticipating being able to reopen Club sites in England on 12 April 2021, although we are still awaiting confirmation regarding certain aspects relating to shared facilities. In addition travel between countries (ie between England, Wales, Scotland and NI remains restricted, and guidance has not been provided yet in Scotland, Wales or NI). For example the guidance in England is that domestic travel after 8 March is permitted but should be minimised (eg. stay local).

In brief, and please note that these dates and details are obviously subject to change as per the announcements from the respective Governments.  Please make an informed decision before deciding when to commence rallying, mindful that the dates could change.

Step 2 (no earlier than 12 April 2021)
England
Rallies can commence but as a campsite only; there can be no social activities associated with it, and all members must comply with the Government’s guidance regarding social contact, and group size outdoors.
Covid secure protocols must still be adhered to and a Covid Risk Assessment is to be sent to governance@camc.com seven days before the start of the rally.
Step 3 (no earlier than 17 May 2021)
England
There can now be a maximum of 30 people outdoors. This means social activities on a rally can resume but for only a maximum of 30 people.
A Covid Risk Assessment is still required to be submitted to governance seven days before the start of the rally.
The Rule of Six applies to indoor meetings and two households (a van represents one household) are permitted to meet.
Step 4 (no earlier than 21 June 2021)
England
There are no longer any restrictions on social gatherings at rallies.
It is likely that there will still be a requirement to have Covid Risk Protocols in place on rallies and more details of this will be advised at a later date.  All Centre rallies and events must continue to have a Risk Assessment undertaken, per Centre Guidance, and this is to be held on record with the Centre Committee per the GDPR data retention plan. This is good practice to ensure safety on a rally and will be a good reference should anything go wrong.
Reminders to ralliers about handwashing and compliance with any Government regulations are to be followed.
No earlier than 1 April 2021 (Easter Weekend)
Wales
Rallies can commence but as a campsite only; there can be no social activities associated with it.
Covid secure protocols must still be adhered to and a Covid Risk Assessment is to be sent to governance@camc.com seven days before the start of the rally.
Date TBC
Northern Ireland
Rallies can commence but as a campsite only; there can be no social activities associated with it.
Covid secure protocols must still be adhered to and a Covid Risk Assessment is to be sent to governance@camc.com seven days before the start of the rally.
No earlier than 26 April 2021
Scotland
Rallies can commence but as a campsite only; there can be no social activities. Scotland will remain in level 3.
Covid secure protocols must still be adhered to and a Covid Risk Assessment is to be sent to governance@camc.com seven days before the start of the rally.
NB. We are aware that the Centres in Scotland have decided to cancel all rallies until the end of May 2021.

Mid Anglia Chairmen – charity bike ride

On a brilliantly sunny day Richard Laborne, Chairman of Mid Anglia, and his son Will, Chairman of the Mid Anglia Juniors, completed a 32 mile round trip bike ride from St. Ives, Cambs, to Kings College, Cambridge.  They rode in aid of the children’s mental health charity ‘Blue Smile’ in Cambridgeshire, the chosen charity of the Mid Anglia Juniors.

The charity bike ride raised a fabulous £600 for the charity.  Well done to Richard and Will and thank you to all who donated.

Site Closures in England

The following has been received from the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Dear Mr Kent         Following the UK Government announcement which will place the whole of England into a countrywide lockdown, it is likely that the Club will have to temporarily close its network of campsites in England from 6pm on Wednesday 4 November until the Government advises that we are able to reopen them (currently forecast for the beginning of December). The temporary closure also applies to our Certificated Locations and Affiliated Sites.
While the restrictions are subject to final confirmation from the UK Parliament on Wednesday 4 November, we have taken the decision to cancel all member bookings on campsites in England from Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December 2020 and no new bookings for stays during this period will be taken.  We would very much appreciate your help and support and would be grateful if you could cancel your individual bookings online through our website or App.
We know this will be disappointing for those of you who were booked to go away, but the safety and wellbeing of our members, guests, staff and the communities in which our campsites operate, has always been of paramount importance to us and will continue to be so.
The website will be updated regularly, please take time to check it for the latest information and advice.   With the Club you can book a year in advance with no deposits as well as free cancellations and amendments. Plan ahead with the reassurance that when staying on one of our campsites you’re in safe hands with our COVID secure commitment.
As a Club we are a community of like-minded people, enjoying similar pursuits and pastimes. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support, and trust, in our Club. It is again time for us to all pull together and support one another to ensure your Club can continue to provide the products and services you love and enjoy.
Don’t forget, your membership provides a wide range of member-only products which will be beneficial to you, even while you are not able to tour. Last year members saved over £3million on Club offers.
I want to reassure you all of the Club’s commitment to again meeting this challenge. Thank you for your continued support and patience, and I’m sure you will join me in recognising and thanking our dedicated staff who are all working incredibly hard to make sure we can continue to serve you, our members.

We look forward to welcoming you back when it is safe to do so. Please regularly check www.camc.com for updates. Until then, stay safe, we wish you and your loved ones well.
