Come and join the Anglia region on a Thames Barge for a three course meal followed by a sailing along the River Blackwater on Saturday 15th June 2019.

These fine old ships, with their distinctive red ochre sails, evoke an era long since past. Once the East Coasts traditional cargo vessel – at the turn of the century the Thames Sailing Barge fleet numbered over 2,000 – today only a handful of traditional Barges survive.

These beautiful vessels provide an unusual and memorable venue and this is a rare opportunity to sample all they have to offer.

The booking form for the barge trip is below.

The North Essex Centre are also hosting a rally at the museum of power Langford Maldon Essex and transport will be provided from the temporary site to the barges so you can enjoy a little tipple as well!!

The caravan Club have again issued a list of all the centre rallies nationally and they can be found on the below button. So if you are looking for somewhere whilst on your travels around the country then this can be a cheap alternative as a base to explore the local areas you may be visiting.

The National 24 to 28 May 2019

Ragley Hall, Park & Gardens, Alcestor

There are spaces available for members who are attending the National this year, to volunteer as Rally Block Marshals (RBMs), to assist Mark & Debra Terry, who are our Lead RBMs.

Also we are looking for as many people as possible to help, so we can have a rota covering the weekend ensuing we all get time to enjoy what the National has to offer.

If there are any members who would like to help the region with this important task, could they please email me at rallyblockmarshal@suffolkcentre.co.uk or Chairman@angliaregion.org.uk for more details.

If you are not a member of a centre of the caravan club then there is a festival weekend between 30th August and 1st September to introduce you to what centre activities are all about. The Anglia Region has 3 centres that are putting on an event and these are listed on the North Essex, South Essex and Mid Anglia centres. All 3 have different things to offer and will give you a real feel for what centre members do nearly every weekend throughout the year without Electricity....yes we can survive and charg our electrical devices from a 12v battery!!

Please have a look and our centre's would love to welcome you to these events.

Over the August BH weekend the Anglia region held a dinner on the Holt to Sherringham steam train for 80 members of the caravan club. This was by way of a tribute to the contribution that Derrick stammers made to the region and the club. his wife leslie and son Chris and his family were the guest of honours. This was accompanied by a great rally hosted by North Essex at he Holt rugby club. There was a very good quiz night accompanied by cheese and wine on the friday evening. The main event on Saturday saw the guests receiving an apperitif before boarding the train where they were taken to Sherringham and back during their three course dinner which was absolutely marvellous and all the waiters and waitresses who were all volunteers took care of all their needs.

Sunday evening saw the Anglia committee run a race night with a difference and the proceeds of the night raised £110 which has been donated to Marie Curie trust the charity of choice of the guest of honour Leslie Stammers.

There was plenty for people to go and see in the area and many took the opportunity to visit the many towns and villages in the area.

The next event is already being planned and the event details are now on the News/events page

The Anglia Region Get together rally was held over the weekend of  21st june - 24th june 2018.

45 vans were in attendance and on the Friday evening a darts competition was organised whilst we caught up with old friends and made many new ones. Following bacon rolls on Saturday morning a ramble to the oldest wooden church in Greenstead near Ongar saw 15 members complete the walk via a local hostel of course!! Whilst this were happening the children were entertained and made a great poster!! Saturday afternoon saw some fun and games for all on the field before we went to the local village hall where we were entertained by Steve Gallow with his bango playing, singing and what can only be described as a comic act. Sunday was a tim for thank yous before those who could stay a little longer settled down to watch England in the world Cup.

Our thanks go to the South Essex Centre and their committee for all their hard work in organising this event.

The minutes from the Regional council meetings are now published on this site from the link at the top of the page.

We hope that you find these useful.
